Selecting the right Centre Table for your home

The furniture in your house is a reflection of your personality and style. It also has its role and purpose to play. Some furniture is fancy and for ornamental use, while some have a utility significance to them.

Coffee tables or center table for living room fall in the utility category. The options for center tables for living room are far from few. But what makes for a perfect fit? Let’s have a look at some of the considerations you need to make when you are looking to buy a center table.

Size

The size of the center table for a living room depends solely on two factors. One is the size of the living room and the other being the manner in which your living room seating arrangement is. Ensure that the height of the table is not lower than one or two inches from the height of your sofa.

This will enable your guests to be comfortable while placing and reaching out for their glasses, cups, and plates. Also make sure the extents, i.e., the width of the table is in sync with the rest of the furniture for ease to move around.

Shape

The shape of the center table for the living room is equally important as size. If your sofa or seating arrangement is in an L-shape or rectangular shape, the center table should be of a rectangular shape to enhance symmetry.

However, if you are looking to break the monotony and flow, you can incorporate a rounded oval shape or circle shape table. It will disrupt the sharp lines and give it a slightly softer touch. It will also serve as a better option for any infants you may have.

Material

What should your center table for the living room be made of? Again, it depends on the soft furnishings that you have incorporated like the hosiery, upholstery, curtains, drapes etc. It also depends upon the colors you choose.

If you have a black and white or contrasts, you can go in for a glass top with wrought iron or steel which gives it a more contemporary and unconventional look. If your color theme is leaning toward warm pastels, then you can go for a full muscle teak/teal one which is modern as well as rich and classy.

If you have the luxury of more room, you can also include multiple center tables for the living room to make it stand apart.
