Diabetes, by nature is a metabolic disorder caused due to the deficiency or absence of insulin in the body. Cover the dish and bake it at 400 degrees for half an hour. Then, remove the cover, and bake it again at an increased temperature of 450 degrees until the outer coating of the chicken sports a light brown color. This should ideally take around 15 minutes, so make sure you don't over cook it.

Another recipe worth mentioning is the Moroccan Chicken. For this, you will need three pounds of chicken, cut it into serving pieces. Place the pieces in a pot. In another place, take half cup of copped onions, 8 snipped and dried fig leaves, minced garlic (2 cloves), two bay leaves, half teaspoon ground allspice and a teaspoon of dried thyme leaves. If you feel like it, then you could also add half a cup of chopped green pepper in to the mix. Then empty an entire 8 ounce can of tomato juice along with ¼ cup of white wine and mix it nicely with the rest of the ingredients. Transfer this mixture into the pot containing the chicken and continue cooking it till the chicken pieces become tender. Sprinkle some sesame seeds or crushed almonds to complete the dish before serving this yummy delight.

A diabetic diet plan only requires the food to be free from excess fat, carbohydrates and sugar. Sure, it calls for certain sacrifices in the form of junk food or the fizzy drinks. But, you could still enjoy gourmet style dishes as long as they are low on calories and even top it up with a dessert that has lots of fruits.
